Hello! I’m Alicia

I am a Library & Information Science (LIS) educator. I have a a PhD in Information Science & Learning Technologies and a Masters in Library & Information Science, and I am an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida, School of Information‘s graduate and undergraduate programs.

I worked as a college librarian for 12 years, as a consultant for public libraries, and as a K-12 teacher before that. I am originally from Argentina, currently living in Florida, USA. I am fully bilingual (English-Spanish) and I have advanced knowledge of French.

I research the impact of socio-cultural perspectives on library services, information practices, and higher education pedagogy. I study and teach topics related to academic, public, and school librarianship with an emphasis on services to specific groups or populations, bilingual (Spanish-English) and multicultural youth literature, and inclusive library services for children and teens.
